Press Any Key To Start Game

Controls : Use cursor keys Up, Down, Left and Right to navigate Digger.
F1 to fire.
Space to pause.
F10 to return to the title screen.
+ to increase the game speed by 5.
- to decrease the game speed by 5.
If keys don't work, click on the game to give it the focus.

The game : Eat emeralds, collect gold and avoid monsters.
Emerald (): 25 points.
Eight consecutive emeralds: Extra 250 points.
Gold (): 500 points.
Killing a Nobbin () or a Hobbin () : 250 points.
Bonus (): 1,000 points.
(In bonus mode) Eating a Nobbin or a Hobbin is 200 points for first, 400 for 2nd, etc. (doubling each time) - still 250 for other methods of killing (shooting or hitting with bag of gold).
At every multiple of 20,000 points you get an extra life.

History : Digger was originally created by Windmill software (original autor Rob Sleath) in 1983.
Andrew Jenner rewrote the game as Digger Remastered and released it under GNU GPL.
The Digger Remastered was ported to Java by Marek Futrega.
